Emotions: There's Not Always a Place for Them

Emotions: There's Not Always a Place for Them

Being emotional is something I've always been taught to be. Growing up in a religious household I was always told to be compassionate and caring about, well... everyone and everything. As I've grown up I've come to realize how much this doesn't work in a world filled with prejudice, conflict and malevolence.

One of the biggest problems I have with emotions is injecting emotions into situations in which they have no place. You know, when you subjectively blow up with emotion and accuse someone of something that they did not by any means do?

Like when you call and text your classmate about hanging out and they don't reply for days and you think of one time when you said something embarrassing in front of them so you mournfully conclude that they think you are an awkward misfit who would drag them down the ladder to mainstream acceptance if they respond to your text.

When in reality, they skimmed through their texts while they were at work and never got a chance to reply and forgot by the time they got off.

Our assumptions of what people think and why they respond is incorrectly interpreted and blown up out of proportion, thus leading us to overreact to things and take them personally.

Things are what they are despite how you view them. Just because we project something as a big deal does not necessarily mean it's a big deal to anyone else on earth.

For us to take an objective situation, such as when you're spending time with someone and they leave the room to talk on the phone, and turn it into "they must be so sick of being around me" and "they are so rude and do not have any respect for me", is a completely ignorant and inappropriate time to warp a situation into something personal and emotional.

Emotions have no place in objective situations.

He picked up the phone when his sister called.

He did not reject you, he did not leave you, he did not want to show you how little he cares for you.

He picked up the phone, and that's it.

Don't turn something, into something emotional.

Being subjective towards someone with no logical reasoning does not make your emotions valid.

It's not fair to anyone, and you'll just end up looking petty and melodramatic. No one pities you. It's time to grow up and take charge of your own actions and emotions instead of sprinkling them all over situations where they do not belong.

Sometimes it feels like something's impossible to do when it requires so much consistency and maintenance of motivation. Sometimes when I feel this way, I want to give up.

But then I remember that anything of any value, anything that I really want in life, should be worth all the time, effort and repetition necessary to obtain it.

And then I try one more time.

And then I fail one more time.

And one day, I will try one more time but I will not fail.

And that is why I do not listen to the voices in my head telling me I don't have to keep trying, because it's too hard.

The more you try, the less hard it will become.

Just don't stop.

Self-composed.

I am confident through storm and sea.

I am confident in who I am and who I will be.

I will live my life to it's fullest extent;

I will grab hold of each moment and not wonder where it went.

I will miss you when you're gone but I will love you while you're near.

I will never forget to treasure you while you're still here.

I will love and breath through every single moment I endeavor.

And although life may be fleeting, I will be my own forever.

Time is Money

Our lives are ending one minute at a time...

This moment you're living right now? It's going to end.

Your time is not infinite,

every minute you live through will pass, and you'll never get it back.

...so make it a good moment.

Make your moments ones filled with passion,

keep your mind at peace despite what the current circumstances may be.

Do something with each moment that will make future moments better, for you and for others.

....do something, be someone.

Go chase your dreams, because they're not going to come chasing after you.

Go apply for that job you want even though you think you don't stand a chance.

Go ask him/her for their number, don't wait around for them to ask you.

Learn how to play that one instrument, write that one book you should've started months ago, learn that one HTML coding, that one foreign language.

Time is money.

Make use of this time you were given because it is valuable.

It's (beyond) time to stop wasting it because IT CANNOT BE REPLACED.

Go. The clock is ticking.

...The world won't slow down for you just because you can't keep up.

The Human Race Has Become An Issue.

When I think about what the human race has done to the earth, and what we choose to use our time, words, and actions doing, I am disgusted.
Is this really what the purpose of human beings is? To be jealous and angry towards each other, judging EVERYONE, as we waste our time using the internet to whine about how much we “hate” ourselves and making jokes about how lonely and “useless” we are? staying up-to-date with the latest celebrity gossip and fashion trends, and making sure we have the newest updates on our smartphones, working a job in an office with stuck-up, power-hungry assholes and coming home to a nagging wife who’s cheating on you and screaming kids who just spilled chocolate pudding on the sofa.
We’re full of shit. We’re all so lazy and we don’t even fucking try. I grief for the current state of the human race.

How about we NOT be like this.

Let's strive for something bigger, let's be ourselves, let's stand up for the truth, let's carve our own paths, and work together to become a big, beautiful family on this planet we all call home.

Fucking Fairytale.

Stop expecting life to be a fucking fairytale.

Stop being lazy and full of bullshit excuses for everything you do.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself about the results you don't get from the work you don't do.

Stop expecting people to be exactly what you want them to be,
stop expecting situations to turn out how you want them to,
and stop getting so goddamn upset about everything that doesn't go your way. It's pitiful as fuck.

Life is not a fucking fairytale.

Things aren't going to be the way you want them to be.

People aren't going to be exactly who you want them to be.

Stop lying to yourself.

It's all in your head.

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD.

You become what you make yourself become.

Life is life is life is life.

Deal with it or shut the fuck up and quit bothering other people with your pathetic bullshit.

Life is good.

Did you read that?

Life is good.

Read it again.

Remember it.

Believe it.

Embrace this truth.

Work on changing the things in your life that you CAN change.

You do have some control in your life. Take it.

Stop complaining about your lack of skills if you don't devote time to perfecting them.

You're not good at drawing?

Of course you're not, you never draw.

You don't have a good job?

Of course you don't, you never applied to any.

Stop lying to yourself. No one believes your bullshit.

Go out and get what you want out of life.

Get Inspired

What is it about coffee shops that motivates me to write and draw?

Maybe I shouldn't question it.

I think it's all about the environment. Different environments inspire different people.
The vibe I get from coffee shops are so comfortable and poetic. And that is the environment I am the most inspired by.
That along with parks, the beach, and basically anywhere between the hours of 12am-3am.

The peace and quiet makes it so much easier to listen to my own voice.

This makes me wonder what different kinds of environments inspire different types of people. And what determines whether we're inspired or not?

Seriously though, where ever it is for you, go find it. It's such a motivating feeling and it helps me push myself so much further. Search for it. Don't stop until you find it. You'll be doing yourself a huge favor.

Go get inspired to change the world with all you have to offer it.

Stop making excuses. It's not that hard.

Why Are Celebrities So "Perfect"?

All the people I see on the internet who say how depressed they are and how much they hate themselves always talk about how perfect all of these television stars and models are.

But am I the only one who's noticed that the only difference between these people and these celebrities is that the celebrities are being positive?

You see them with smiles on their faces, laughing, being confident and sticking with their beliefs and standing up for things they think are important.

But we worship them like they're some kind of higher form of human being when really, they're us, except for instead of feeling sorry for themselves and wanting to be someone else, they go out and be that person.

Your thoughts about how you're so ugly and stupid and hopelessly shy is all in your head. Get it out of your head and actually make an EFFORT to be these things you envy others for being.

If you don't go after these things no matter how hard it is, no matter how many times you fail, no matter how many weeks or months or years it takes, then I don't feel bad for you for not having them.

I don't feel sorry for you if you don't put in a no-excuses effort to achieve what you want to be in life.

IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE!

Wanna know the only things in life that are impossible?

The things that you do not try to do.

You've got a world of knowledge right in front of your fingertips right this second.

You can literally search ANY topic you want to learn in a matter of seconds.

What excuse could you possibly use now?

I don't wanna hear it. Go figure out how to do whatever it takes to get where you want to be.

Everything We Say Is Fake

The things you say and write without the intention of showing someone else are your real thoughts.
If you're saying something to someone else, you're going to alter it in some way: change the words you use, change the tone, take out or add something; you're going to filter it in one way or another.

We're bullshitting people when we do this.
Our brains have been programmed to filter our words like that.

There are a few exceptions, and those are the people that we often label as "assholes" for being upfront and honest.

But really, we're the assholes for being fake and judging other people for actually being real.

We do it out of jealousy. We wish we were bold enough to say what we feel without the fear of being judged.

We're far too pretentious to admit it though.

My Thoughts About Priorities

People's priorities are all over the place.
My mother sees me being bitter and selfish consistently, yet she confronts at me about things like not cleaning my room.
My room is a mess, but so is my life.
How can I justify making time to clean something so insignificant as my room if I have yet to find enough time to clean up my life?
It doesn't make sense to me to clean up my room and make it seem like I have my life together when I don't.
If I am really a mess, my room will represent it.
If I don't have all my shit together, cleaning my room and making it seem as if I do is fake and misleading in my eyes.

I will not go out of my way to make things seem a way that they are not.
